Io and Miriam are the two characters to watch out for both addicts of some Nasty stuff one clean and trying to help the other.... I fell in love with them in Heart of a Warrior for the simple reason Io need to focus on something besides his stupidity that was spewing out his mouth where his best friend Ari was concerned... So Miriam comes along and Rocks his world but she is the princess of their race so she is a BIG NO NO!!! does he care that also would be a BIG NO!! these two are fighting her addiction and the king and the bad guys all the way... Io finds out alot and has to depend on Ari's Lover for help... which in the end Teaches him more lessons along the way this story was just Raw when it came to the heart and so much Happened you seriously can't wait for book 4 to get here.... Loved it and still will recommend it to everyone!!!!
I just want to say that no book in this series seem to live up to the emotional standpoint like Ari and Sev. I have grown to like Micah in other people's stories just not his.

Ok my review. If Miriam was indeed 47 and that wasn't an error I can feel no sympathy for her. She behaved carelessly. She had no regard for her father nor the extreme amount pressure it was like to be king. I felt she behaved in selfish ways. If she wanted to rebel and be heard there were different ways to do it. This is just not how a woman of 47 should behave. She was a teenager in everyway. Io didn't have as much depth to him as I thought. But I enjoyed him. The story was very clique and I really didn't care enough about io and Miriam. I was more interested in the other characters. There were better stories beginning introduced then the story of io and Miriam.

Now for my unanswered questions

If these vampires can demateralize how come io couldn't use this power to free himself from the kings dungeon when he was in his calling? How come Miriam couldn't use this power to go to the dungeon with IO when she heard him calling for her? If vampire blood is stronger than Derek's blood and venom and vampire blood does nothing to vampires how does cobalt get vampires addicted? Derek's blood shouldn't do anything to vampires since sev is half Derek and ari clearly drinks his blood. When king bain ordered his guards to go get Miriam from it's home it was just before the morning sun. These guards were day walkers so how come when they reached ios home it was 30 min before night fall? Io doesn't live an entire day away and even if so they could demateralize there. If trace can feel when people are poking around in his head how come the kings (I can't remember her name) half sister was able to read some of traces thoughts without him feeling it? Trace clearly didn't want her poking around in his head and he has the power to shut her out so this doesn't make sense. I get that Micah wants to protect trace because of the Dom role Micah plays but Micah is mated to Sam he basically left her by herself when Tristan came to bring trace to the king. If Micah is able to do this does that mean his need to Dom is greater than his need to keep his mate safe and be with her?

Overall it was a nice read.
I absolutely recommend this series by Donya Lynne. I was going to write a review for each book so far in this series, but I'll let someone else do that.I find some individual reviews reveal too too much and take away from the shock and awe. I like to give just a brief synopsis so you are intrigued enough to purchase and enjoy the story as it unravels based on your emotions and interpretations. Every readers vision and imagination is different. From book #1 Rise of the Fallen to Rebel Obsession this series with its multitude of Alpha Enforcers with their messed up minds, to the their mates, to the evil Dreck's grabbed my attention from Book #1 first paragraph and never let me go. The roller coaster of emotions these take you through are amazing. My blood was boiling, my heart racing out of my chest and I just could not put the books down. From Micah and Sam, then Trace, Tristan, Maleck, Gina Sev and Ari, Io and the kings daughter Miriam, the list goes on. I'm anxious for the release of The Return of the Assassin. I want to see where the author takes Trace, Cordray even Maddox (Trace's Father). I so can't wait to see how these characters develope. I'm curious to see who the Assassin is. Donya Lynne has now become one of my fav author's to follow. Please do yourself a favor and splurge on this series you will not regret it.
