The Haunted Yarn Shop series is my favorite paranormal cozy mystery series. There I said it!. I have some other paranormal cozy mysteries that I like very much too. What makes this series special for me? The relationship between Geneva, the resident ghost at the Weaver's Cat and Kath who is the owner of the yarn shop is humorous and is turning into a friendship. Geneva's personality is evolving as each new book is written. She is always dramatic and loves word play.
The word play is another reason I like this series. There are playful alliterations and play on common expressions. The author is very good at presenting words in a creative and playful way. I also like the characters in the TGIF group who meet at the Weaver's Cat to knit and visit. Right now they are working on deadline making baby hats. They are calling this project Fast and Furious. The characters are in every book and I would miss each individual character if they were not in the series. They are a diverse group. They join together to solve the murders that occur and are called the posse.
This book has the mysterious death of a bag piper and a local resident. The group is involved in a fun project where they yarn bomb the small town of Blue Plum I was unable to solve the mystery until the author let the readers in on the solution. The only drawback to this book for me was the motive for the murder. I am looking forward to the next book in this series as I love it!

Everything with these characters is fabulous! I hope the author always keeps writing about this group of characters and their adventures!
I've read the previous books in this series and I also enjoyed this latest story. The characters are developing with each book and the ending leaves something to look forward to in the next book. Recommend this series to cozy mystery lovers!
The blue plum is having a festival, but the death of two people has the people on edge. Could a manic be on the loose or is something more sinister happening. This time we get a close look at family and how far some would go to be rid of theirs and others to protect the ones they love. Kath and Geneva have a lot in come like the gift they share, oh you don't know what the gift is ? Then read this book to find out.
This really needs a 3.5 rating. The story is a clever cozy, and I delighted in learning about yarn bombings. I would have liked to see more character development, though. When the story ended, I felt as if I still didn't know the characters well. There are some characters with excellent potential, and I hope to learn more about them in another book.
I really enjoy this cozy mystery series. When a bagpiper and former resident, Hugh McPhee is killed, Kath and her knitting group come together to try and piece together the mystery. The author does a good job with the mystery - she kept me guessing, and kept me turning the pages. I really enjoy the characters. Geneva, the resident ghost is such a fun character, too. Overall, a great read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story with some interesting red herrings! The title caught my attention and the storyline dragged me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved how the characters interacted and even kept each other guessing. The only thing I could say negative about this little gem is "Darn it! Now I have to get the rest of the series!"
I do have one question though. At the end you mentioned something Tammie did and left me hanging. What happened and who was she tattling to? Or do I have to wait to find out?

Knot the usual suspects is the latest in the Haunted Yarn Shop Mysteries. It takes place in Blue Plum, Tennessee.
Kath Rutledge, the main character, owns the Weaver’s Cat fiber and fabric shop. She inherited the shop and a house from her grandmother.
In this book, a long time absent resident of Blue Plum, Hugh McPhee, returns. When he does, it’s not to the warmest of welcomes. Then when he plays his bagpipes after dark, someone doesn’t appreciate it and kills him. There are so many twists and suspects in this story, you may never figure it out.
I love this series because it takes me home to East Tennessee. I know the area Molly MacRae talks about and can picture the scenes she describes. Now I have to wait for the next one.
