I found this novel curiously bloodless. This is my first (and last) experience with Rona Jaffe, as I felt the writing far too detached from the characters. If the author doesn't care about them, why on earth should I? While we did, I suppose, get "inside" the characters, there was ultimately nothing in there - no real depth of feeling. Perhaps that makes them more like "real people - the people we know" in that we never *really* know our neighbors and we never really know these folks. Nor, perhaps, do we really want to. I read the whole thing but sort of felt as if I was shuffling my feet the entire time.
Yes. Pretty good. I read for entertainment and it entertained me. I was looking for literature for during my childhood and it was during that time and I enjoyed it. Brought back some memories for me.
Interesting and satisfying, a great read....cany wait to start another Jaffe....this one was like a classic movie in book form..there were parts for Davis, Crawford Shearer, Colbert and so on..
Really enjoyed this. This is another novel where Jaffe follows the lives of four women, this time over the course of over twenty years, from their college years to their twentieth class reunion. I wasn't sure how she'd pull it off, but she did. I took one star off because I was less excited about the narratives of two of the women.
I really like this Author. Class Reunion is very much worth reading. The story follows the lives of college students into adult life, their joys, heartaches, and family life. I am reading After the Reunion now and it is not a disappointment, can't wait to see how their lives change again.
If you're looking for a fast paced wonderful women's book, this is it! I believe I read this too many years ago to count, and I enjoyed it then. And I fell right back in love with it again this time.

It's fun to consider what happened to all those Radcliff/Harvard graduates from the 1950s, those women who faced a world where marriage was considered the only real job for women, no matter how educated. So step back in time and have a blast as you delve into one of Rona Jaffe's best novels.
I enjoyed the book however I found a little bit of it unrealistic I don't feel that the gays have it as easy as this book portrayed life and that they have a lot more to put up with if they are Married in our societies.
