Forget me not is a beautiful tender love story that kept me wanting to read more. A gorgeous hero in Cole, I couldn't help but fall in love with him. Adeline had a difficult life and is swept away by the unexpected interest from the beautiful new boy at school from the Little Shell Reservation, but Cole has a deep secret that stems back into his tribe, the Chippewa's, history. Drawn to each other, Adeline tries to unravel the mystery while Cole tries to protect her from it. These scenes will make you cry, but you will laugh and feel right along with all the characters, from Adeline's sister to Cole's father and half-siblings.

This novel would have benefited from tighter editing, otherwise full marks for Allison Blanchard's debut novel. I am looking forward to reading Book 2 and have more of Cole's mystery and Cole and Adeline's love story unfold.

Forget Me Not by Allison Blanchard is a unique story about shape shifters and first love. And what happens when destiny and fate completely transform the life you thought you knew.

Adeline is sort of your standard hotheaded, loner high school heroine. She thinks she's plain and unworthy of Cole's time, then develops an infatuation with him. I know Blanchard wrote Adeline this way for a reason, but it reminded me an awful lot of the way Bella sees herself in Twilight.

Actually, a lot about this story reminded me of Twilight. The heroine getting mixed up with a mysterious boy and learning his family's secrets. His uber-happy sister who takes an instant liking to Adeline. The main characters connection with one another. Although, the romance in Forget Me Not, I felt, had a little more substance than the insta-love that was Bella and Edward's relationship. At least Adeline and Cole had a good reason to feel connected. And, really, after the sudden beginning of their friendship, I felt their relationship plateaued nicely. But as I read further the similarities to Twilight just kept jumping out at me. They didn't detract from the book, but I did notice them and that sort of pulled me out of the story every once in a while.

Something I didn't understand was the way Emma, Adeline's older sister/guardian, felt the need to control Adeline and Cole's relationship. And the major bipolar moods she would go through regarding it. One minute she'd smile and tease Adeline about having a boyfriend and the next she'd be saying, "maybe you shouldn't see that boy anymore." I get that she'd want to protect Adeline from getting too dependent on a boy, but they weren't outwardly obsessive in their relationship. Emma had no reason to think the worst of them, yet she continued to do so to the point where I wanted to tell her to back off for Adeline. It was as if she were trying to let Adeline have the normal teenage experiences she never had, and then at the last moment would change her mind and try to protect Adeline from them instead.

Cole is the good natured love interest from Forget Me Not. He's a sweetheart with a secret and you'll definitely be reading faster, trying to figure out just what that secret is.

The mythology Blanchard wove through Forget Me Not was definitely my favorite part. The Native American legends she constructed were beautifully written and tugged you deeper and deeper into the story. Even though you can predict the mystery from a very early moment in the book, I found it hard to imagine where the story was going to end up. It had me flipping pages late into the night, trying to see what was in store for Adeline and Cole.

If you're a fan of shape shifters and paranormal romance I highly suggest Forget Me Not. With its unique storyline it's sure to drag you in and not let go until the very last page.
This book is Amazing i loved it! I bought it and within 24 hours of getting it in the mail i was done reading it! I am definitely a fan, and i can't wait to see what happens next!
I started reading this book, and could not go to sleep until I found out what happened to Adeline and Cole! Absolutely fell in love with Cole, just like Adeline did. This is a must read. Loved all the history with Native American tribes as well. Can't wait to read the sequel that just came out!
Once I started reading this, I couldn't put it down! I read the very first line and was hooked until the very last line! Its a great story line filled with great and relatable characters! I found myself immersed in the world of Great Falls! I am anxiously waiting the 2nd book! If you enjoy fiction or just a good read, then you'll enjoy Forget-Me-Not! I know I did!
Really enjoyed this sweet story of first love....with a little mystery, some Indian history, and Shapeshifters blended into the story really made this a very interesting read! I recommend it.
Allison Blanchard is an extremely talented author. She captures her readers from the first sentence, "I almost lost my breath when he walked through the door." My mind immediately became enthralled with who this "he" was. As the story progressed I became consumed with Adeline Jasely and her friendship with the mysterious Cole Dyami. Blanchard creates a cinematic experience for the readers with her descriptive words and precise details. Forget Me Not is a must read! I wouldn't be surprised to find this book on NY's Best Sellers' List.
